Charlton V Middlesbrough: Match Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Riverside Stadium

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate was very frustrated with the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest. The result means it is now over two months since Boro last won a league game.

There is some good news, though, for the Teessiders on the injury front with Britt Assombalonga and  Ashley Fletcher both back in contention. Patrick Roberts (hamstring), Dael Fry (thigh) and Anfernee Dijksteel (knee) are also closing in on first-team returns. George Friend (hamstring) and Daniel Ayala (ankle) do, however, remain on the treatment table.

Middlesbrough’s Predicted XI To Face Charlton:

Pears, Howson, Shotton, Moukoudi, Coulson, Clayton, Wing, McNair, Tavernier, Fletcher, Johnson

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer could be without Naby Sarr who is a major doubt with a calf injury. Darren Pratley could return to the fold following a back problem, but Tom Lockyer will be unavailable due to suspension.

Charlton’s Predicted XI:

Phillips, Matthews, Oshilaja, Pearce, Doughty, Oztumer, Cullen, Lapslie, McGeady, Taylor, Green

The bookies have made Boro the favourites with Sky Bet pricing them at 6/4 for the win. A draw is 23/10 with Betway while a Charlton victory is currently 43/20 at Unibet.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Middlesbrough
