Woodgate Provides Positive News On Four Injured Players Ahead Of Boro’s Clash Against Charlton

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has confirmed that both Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher are back in training ahead of the match against Charlton Athletic this weekend.

Both strikers missed the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Monday night with Assombalonga having been sidelined with an illness while Fletcher was struggling with a hamstring problem.

There is more good news on the injury front as well. While Patrick Roberts and Dael Fry won’t be available to face the Addicks, the pair are expected to be back training on Monday ahead of the game versus Swansea.

Roberts hasn’t featured since January after the 23-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw against Birmingham, while Fry sustained a thigh problem in the 2-2 draw with Wigan last month.

After Anfernee Dijksteel stepped up his recovery from a knee injury with the Under 23s, it leaves just George Friend (hamstring) and Daniel Ayala (ankle) currently on the treatment table.
