Middlesbrough forward Rudy Gestede is closing in on a return to action for the club as he steps up his rehabilitation from injury.
Gestede hasn’t featured for Boro since having surgery after picking up an injury in August, and it’s fair to say his exploits have been missed.
However, Garry Monk has confirmed that the 29-year-old will be available some time after the international break – great news for fans and it will be an eagerly anticipated return.
On Tuesday, Gestede posted a video on his Instagram page showing him in training, with the video captioned: “Every setback is a platform for your comeback. One day at a time. UTB.”
Middlesbrough’s form has picked up lately, and they now find themselves 5th in the Championship table. The news about Gestede will be welcomed by all, but he is unlikely to be fit enough to play in Boro’s next game against Leeds United.
