Transfer News: Cardiff Pursue Boro Ace And Close In On Deal For Ligue One Midfield General While Preston Hunt £3m West Ham Frontman

Cardiff are interested in signing Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga, according to reports in the local media.

The Bluebirds have joined the likes of Sheffield United, Celtic, Fulham and Bristol City who are pursuing the 26-year-old.

Neil Warnock’s side are also reportedly leading the race for Bordeaux midfielder Younousse Sankhare.

The 29-year-old is also on Nottingham Forest, Swansea and Sheffield United’s radar but the Senegalese international looks certain to move to South Wales.

Preston are closing in on a deal for West Ham striker, and former Middlesbrough loanee, Jordan Hugill, according to reports in the UK.

North End only sold the 27-year-old for £10m in January 2018, but he failed to make the grade at the London Stadium.

The Hammers are said to be prepared to make a huge loss on Hugill with Preston hoping to seal the deal for just £3m. The Championship side have the money after selling Callum Robinson to Sheffield United earlier this month.
