Sky Sports Pundit Is Predicting Another Difficult Night For Boro Against Birmingham

David Prutton believes Birmingham will come out victors against Middlesbrough in tonight’s clash at St Andrew’s. The Sky Sports pundit thinks the home side have more quality than their opponents and their position in the table belies their level of performances:

“Birmingham are having such an inconsistent campaign. At moments they have looked excellent and like they could have a push for the top six, and other times they seem like they could easily slip towards the relegation zone.”

“Middlesbrough fans will want to give Jonathan Woodgate time to get things right because of his connections with the club, but 20th at this stage is not good enough for them. I think the Blues will nick this one.”

Pep Clotet’s team are 14th in the Championship, just three points above Boro in 20th, so there should be very little to separate the two teams. Both sides haven’t won in their last three games and it’s likely to be decided by the odd goal.

The Teessiders’ away form under manager Jonathan Woodgate hasn’t been great so far, with two draws and two defeats. However, both of those losses were narrow ones against Cardiff and Blackburn Rovers.

Their 2-2 away draw against Bristol City also showed some promise so it shouldn’t be all doom and gloom for Boro fans. They have failed to score more than one goal in any game since picking up that point at Ashton Gate, though, and Woodgate will be hoping for more attacking threat this evening.
