Newcastle Among Trio Of Clubs Looking To Lure Teen Sensation Away From Middlesbrough

Newcastle are looking to snap up Middlesbrough winger Bilal Brahimi on a professional contract, according to reports in France.

The Teessider’s North East rivals are, however, not the only team interested in the teenager. Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and French club Rennes are also keen on the midfielder.

Brahimi’s current deal expires in the summer, but Middlesbrough are keen to sign him to his first professional deal.

The 18-year-old moved to Boro from Portuguese side Leixoes in the summer of 2017. Since then, he has made his way through the youth ranks, playing for both the Under 18s and the Under 23s.

He has been playing in Premier League 2 this campaign, making five appearances, and contributing one assist in the 4-3 win over Fulham in August.

Brahimi’s performances were rewarded by manager Tony Pulis when he was given his senior debut in the second round of the Carabao Cup last month. He came on for the second half, replacing Muhamed Besic, in the 2-1 win over Rochdale.
