Middlesbrough are interested in Birmingham pair Isaac Vassell and Che Adams, according to reports in the local media.
Boro boss Tony Pulis is said to be lining up an offer worth up to £2m for Vassell before the transfer deadline.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined with injuries over the past year and the Teessiders are believed to be wary of paying too much up front. The club will reportedly propose a structured deal in case the forward’s injury issues reoccur.
Vassell has made two substitute appearances since returning from a long-term knee problem. The former Luton striker actually came on during the 2-1 defeat against Boro earlier this month. He was also a sub against Norwich City in the Blues’ last league game.
Adams is also reportedly a target for Pulis’s side, although there is strong interest from Premier League clubs with Southampton already having had an £8m offer rejected.
The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals and contributed four assists in 30 league games this campaign and the player would no doubt add pace and goals if he were to move to the Riverside Stadium.
