Injury-stricken Middlesbrough are set to take on an equally depleted Hull City outfit on Wednesday Evening at the Riverside Stadium, with a kickoff time of 8pm.
Michael Carrick has a number of injury concerns ahead of Boro’s game against the Tigers – Dael Fry, Riley McGree, Aaron Ramsey and Marcus Forss are all doubts for the game against Hull. The latter two are fresh injuries – they both limped off the pitch in Boro’s last game. Matt Clarke will also be out, as he continues his long-term injury rehabilitation.
In their previous Championship fixture, against Norwich City, Middlesbrough thumped the Canaries by a score of 5-1. It was a dominant display from Boro, as Norwich could do little to contain them – their goalscorers on the day were Aaron Ramsey, Hayden Hackney, Cameron Archer and former Arsenal starlet Chuba Akpom.
Meanwhile, Hull played out a 0-0 draw with promotion-chasing Blackburn Rovers in their last league game. Both teams rattled off plenty of shots, but neither could carve out a clear-cut chance – Rovers came the closest to scoring through Sorba Thomas, but failed to do so.
The last time the two teams met, all the way back in November, Boro emerged victorious by a score of 3-1 at the KC Stadium. A strike from Akpom, alongside two own goals, gave Middlesbrough the three points on that day.
