Middlesbrough Vs Coventry City: Match Preview And Injury News

Middlesbrough will take on cash-strapped Coventry City in the final game of the regular Championship season – can they enter the playoffs on a high note?

Boro will miss out on the services of Dael Fry, Riley McGree, Ryan Giles, Aaron Ramsey and Marcus Forss for their game against Coventry. Additionally, midfielder-turned-defender Jonny Howson is a doubt – Michael Carrick’s fingers will be perpetually crossed in hope that he will be fit to play in the playoffs. Anfernee Dijksteel will also be unavailable, as he is currently serving a red card suspension.

In their last game, Middlesbrough slumped to a miserable defeat against lowly Rotherham United. Boro were up against it after Dijksteel was sent off on the stroke of halftime – Rotherham capitalised on their man advantage, as Hakeem Odoffin scored the only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Coventry beat Birmingham City in their last league game. It was a comfortable victory for Mark Robins’ team, as the Blues offered little resistance – their goals were scored by Josh Eccles and Viktor Gyokeres.

When the two teams last came to blows, back in October, Middlesbrough were beaten by a score of 1-0. Viktor Gyokeres scored the only goal of the game – will things be any different with Carrick steering the ship?
