Middlesbrough V Sheffield Wednesday – Team News & Predicted XI

Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis is not happy that Boro’s match against Sheffield Wednesday was brought forward to Friday night for TV.

The Teessiders had ten players away on international duty, with many only getting a day’s training ahead of the Championship clash at Hillsborough.

The likes of Dael Fry, Mo Besic, George Saville, Darren Randolph, Martin Braithwaite and Paddy McNair all featured for their national side’s in recent days and Pulis will assess their fitness ahead of tonight’s game.

In contrast, Sheffield Wednesday only had one player away during the international break and will welcome back a number of players from injury. Steven Fletcher and Barry Bannan have recovered from knocks, while Sam Hutchinson and Morgan Fox are back available for selection.

Sam Winnall and Joost van Aken have recovered from long-term injuries but won’t be in contention for the match this evening.

However, Wednesday will be without key man Fernando Forestieri who suffered a hamstring injury against Bristol City last time out. Marco Matias is also sidelined with a similar problem.

Predicted XI for Middlesbrough to face Sheffield Wednesday:
