Middlesbrough V Sheffield Wednesday: Team News, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Middlesbrough certainly stood up to Cardiff City and went head to head with them in the 1-0 defeat last weekend but manager Jonathan Woodgate said he was disappointed by the lack of chances created.

Boro will face an old manager when they come up against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Garry Monk has four points from his first two league games in charge, but the Owls did lose to Everton in the Carabao Cup.

Middlesbrough have no fresh injury worries. Jonny Howson surprisingly returned to the bench last weekend following his hernia operation so he remains in contention to start.

George Friend (adductor), Rudy Gestede (hamstring) and Hayden Coulson (thigh) are still unavailable to face Wednesday.

Middlesbrough’s Predicted XI To Face Sheffield Wednesday:

Randolph, Dijksteel, Shotton, Fry, Bola, McNair, Clayton, Wing, Johnson, Assombalonga, Fletcher

The Owls could have Tom Lees missing due to hamstring problem, while David Bates remains a doubt because of a groin injury.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Predicted XI:

Westwood, Odubajo, Iorfa, Borner, Palmer, Murphy, Reach, Bannan, Hutchinson, Harris, Fletcher

The bookies have Middlesbrough as favourites with Betfred pricing them at 6/4 to win. A draw is 23/10 with Betfair while a Wednesday victory is 9/4 at Unibet.

Predicted Score – 1-1
