Middlesbrough V Brentford: Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate‘s first game in charge was an eventful one, to say the least. There were a lot of positives from the 3-3 draw against Luton, but he will want to improve defensively.

They face a Brentford side on Saturday who lost 1-0 at home in their opening fixture against Birmingham with Thomas Frank frustrated with his side’s inability to make the most of their chances.

Both teams have injuries heading into the game. Captain George Friend is likely to be fit after missing the match against Luton, but Dael Fry is unlikely to feature for the first home game of the season.

The 21-year-old is still recovering from a hamstring injury, meaning Ryan Shotton and Daniel Ayala are likely to continue as the centre-back partnership. Anfernee Dijksteel could make his debut at right-back after signing for an undisclosed fee from Charlton.

Middlesbrough’s Predicted XI To Face Brentford:

Randolph, Dijksteel, Ayala, Shotton, Friend, Wing, McNair, Clayton, Johnson, Assombalonga, Fletcher

Brentford have doubts over Mads Bech Sorensen and Said Benrahma heading into today’s game, but Kamohelo Mokotjo could be back in contention following his late return to training after his exploits at the African Cup of Nations.

New signings Joel Valencia and Dominic Thompson could also be in contention for the game.

Brentford’s Predicted XI:

Raya, Dalsgaard, Jeanvier, Jansson, Pinnock, Henry, Mokotjo, Jensen, Canos, Watkins, Marcondes

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Middlesbrough
