Middlesbrough Handed Double Boost Ahead Of Potential Season Return

Manchester City have confirmed that loan duo Patrick Roberts and Lukas Nmecha will finish the campaign with Middlesbrough.

The loan deals for both players were expected to end on May 31st but it appears they will now be extended so they can complete the season at Boro.

Although the Premier League have now set a resumption date for June 17th, plans for the Championship are still very much up in the air.

There has been some talk that the English second tier could restart on the same weekend as the top flight, June 20th, but there has been no confirmation from the EFL so far.

In any case, Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate will be delighted to keep Roberts and Nmecha for the remaining league fixtures as the Teessiders look to stay clear of relegation.

Roberts has played four games, scoring no goals and providing one assist, while Nmecha has made 10 appearances during his loan spell.
