Middlesbrough Among Four Clubs Tracking £20m Rated League One Duo

Middlesbrough are one of four Championship clubs keeping tabs on Peterborough’s Marcus Maddison and Ivan Toney, according to TEAMtalk.

The website reports that the Posh value the pair at £10m each, and they are expecting interest from Premier League teams, as well as the Championship.

In addition to Boro, Bristol City, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers are all said to be keen on the two players who have been ripping up League One this season.

Maddison has scored five goals and provided six assists in just nine appearances for Peterborough, despite playing ostensibly in a number 10 role.

Toney, meanwhile, has bagged eight goals in nine league games so far this campaign. The 23-year-old came through the academy at Newcastle before having loan spells at Barnsley, Shrewsbury, Scunthorpe and Wigan.

He made the permanent move to London Road in 2018 and racked up 23 goals during his first season with the Posh. The forward looks like he will surpass that total after an excellent start to the season.
