Middlesbrough Eyeing Loan Deal For Premier League Midfield General

Middlesbrough are interested in taking Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald on loan, according to reports in the English media.

The Scottish international last played for the Cottagers against Wolves on Boxing Day, and manager Claudio Ranieri is said to be prepared to let the midfielder leave on a temporary basis.

McDonald was a key player under former head coach Slavisa Jokanovic but has had very little game time under the Italian, mainly due to an ankle injury.

The 30-year-old joined Fulham from Wolves in 2016, making 105 appearances in all competitions for the London club. He has five caps for Scotland after being handed his senior debut against Costa Rica by Alex McLeish in a friendly last March.

Boro boss Tony Pulis has only brought in one player in Huddersfield’s Rajiv van La Parra during the January transfer window so far, but the Teessiders are said to be keen to do more deals before the end of the month.
