Manager Reveals Whether Rotherham Have Received New Approach From Boro Amid 900K Bid Claims

Rotherham boss Matt Taylor has confirmed that the Millers have not had any new offers for Dan Barlaser and Chiedozie Ogbene.

Both players are said to be of interest to Middlesbrough, with the former believed to have been the subject of a £900,000 bid from the Teessiders, but when asked if his club had received any more proposals for the pair, Taylor simply replied:

“Not this week, no.”

Boro have a longstanding interest in Barlaser. The 26-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season but negotiations have been complicated by the fact that Rotherham owe his previous team Newcastle a percentage of any transfer fee.

Ogbene is in a similar situation in regards to his current deal ending in June, but the winger has plenty of suitors, with Belgian giants Club Brugge said to be in the mix, along with Swansea, Millwall and Michael Carrick’s side.

For the moment at least, it seems progress on both deals have ground to a halt so we shall see if Boro consider other options.
