Liverpool Among Host Of Teams Pursuing Middlesbrough Starlet After Contract Talks Stall

Liverpool have joined Newcastle in pursuing Middlesbrough youngster Bilal Brahimi, according to reports in England.

The 19-year-old has failed to agree a new deal at the Riverside Stadium and will likely leave Boro at the end of the season.

Brahimi has been at the club for almost two years, having been signed from Portuguese team Leixoes in July 2017.

The Frenchman made his senior debut for Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup second-round win over Rochdale in late August.

He hasn’t featured for the first team since then, but the winger has played for the Under 21s in the EFL Trophy, featuring against Burton Albion back in November.

In addition to Premier League teams, Brahimi is also being pursued by clubs in his native France with Rennes reportedly leading the race for his signature.

The teenager is seen as a promising young prospect, having been called up by the French Under 19s in October.
