Latest Middlesbrough Injury Report Ahead Of The Game Against Cardiff

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has confirmed that there are no fresh injury worries heading into the game against Cardiff City on Saturday.

When asked about the current situation, the Boro boss said that the same players remained on the injury list:

“The ones who were out previously are still out.”

It means that Jonny Howson (hernia), George Friend (adductor), Hayden Coulson (thigh) and Rudy Gestede (hamstring) won’t be available for the trip to Wales this weekend.

Coulson was said to be closing in on a return so it is a surprise that he remains on the sidelines. The left-back has missed the last six games with Marc Bola having taken his place in the side.

Howson is making good progress in his recovery from a hernia operation and is said to be eyeing the game against Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the month as a possible return date.

Gestede is still believed to be undergoing treatment while Friend is recovering from surgery on a ruptured tendon which has kept him out of action since last season.
