Four Premier League Clubs Set For January Battle For £20m Rated Boro Star

Manchester City, Tottenham, Wolves and Everton are all scouting Middlesbrough centre-back Dael Fry, according to TEAMtalk. The website reports that the four Premier League clubs are following the 22-year-old closely.

The Boro defender has been given the captain’s armband in George Friend’s absence and has started the last three league games for Jonathan Woodgate’s side. He missed the first four league matches of the campaign due to a hamstring injury.

It is believed City, in particular, are considering a move for Fry, with the Premier League champions having lost Aymeric Laporte to a long-term knee injury.

Middlesbrough are said to be likely to sell up if an appropriate bid is made for the centre-half with chairman Steve Gibson keen to keep the Teessiders on a sound financial footing.

A £20m asking price has reportedly been set for Fry, with Boro said to be bracing themselves for bids in the January transfer window.
