Brentford V Middlesbrough: Match Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has confirmed that captain George Friend and centre-back Ryan Shotton will not feature against Brentford tomorrow afternoon.

Both players are closing in on a return to fitness but neither is fit enough to be considered for first-team selection. They will take part in the Under 23s game versus Blackburn tonight before getting another run out in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Celtic next week.  Anfernee Dijksteel (knee), Patrick Roberts (hamstring) and Daniel Ayala (ankle) also remain out of contention.

Middlesbrough’s Predicted XI To Face Brentford:

Pears, Spence, Howson, McNair, Fry, Coulson, Wing, Tavernier, Saville, Fletcher, Assombalonga

Bees boss Thomas Frank will be without Pontus Jansson for the game with the Swedish international having failed to recover from a hip injury. Sergi Canos and Nikos Karelis (both knee) are also still unavailable.

Brentford’s Predicted XI:

David Raya, Dalsgaard, Jeanvier, Pinnock, Henry, Jensen, Norgaard, Da Silva, Mbuemo, Watkins, Benrahma

The bookmakers have made the home side the favourites with Coral pricing them at 8/15 to win. A draw is 10/3 with Betfred while a Boro victory is currently 6/1 at Unibet.

Predicted Score – 2-0 to Brentford
