Boro Aiming To Offer Teenage Talent New Deal Amid Interest From Two PL Clubs

Middlesbrough are set to offer winger Pharrell Willis a new long-term contract, according to reports.

The teenager has impressed manager Michael Carrick, who gave him his senior debut in the 3-0 win over Blackpool earlier this week.

Willis is, however, being watched by other teams. Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers have been keeping an eye on the forward and Premier League clubs, West Ham and Crystal Palace, are also said to be interested. It is, therefore, essential that the player commits his future to the Teessiders in order to protect his value.

Boro picked up the 19-year-old from non-league football a couple of years ago, and he has impressed playing for the club’s Under 21s in Premier League 2 this season.

Having already caught the eye of Carrick, who was only appointed the club’s new head coach a few weeks ago, it seems that Willis may well get a bit more game time for the first team in the coming weeks.
