Boro Ace Named In England U20 World Cup Squad Along With Chelsea, Arsenal And Manchester City Stars

Middlesbrough midfielder Jacob Ramsey has been included in England’s squad for the Under 20 World Cup later this month.

The Aston Villa loanee will join up with the Three Lions when Boro’s participation in the Championship playoffs come to an end.

Ramsey has been out injured since the 5-1 win over Norwich City almost a month ago but his selection for the World Cup suggests he could still play again for the Teessiders this season, either in the semi-final versus Coventry City or potentially the final.

In terms of the rest of England’s squad, Chelsea have the most players with four (Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Bashir Humphreys, Carney Chukwuemeka and Harvey Vale), whilst the likes of Brighton (James Beadle and Imari Hines-Samuels), Manchester City (Callum Doyle and Liam Delap), Tottenham (Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett), Brentford (Matthew Cox and Daniel Oyegoke), and Leeds (Darko Gyabi and Mateo Joseph) have two.

Arsenal’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah, Peterborough’s Ronnie Edwards, Southampton’s Sam Edozie, Bristol City’s Alex Scott and Sheffield United’s Daniel Jebbison also make the plane. England’s first group match against Tunisia takes place on Monday 22nd May.
